Doyle family now with two reasons to celebrate.

Fifth Third Bank celebrated its namesake day (5/3 on the calendar) by surprising the families of 77 babies born in 19 participating Central Indiana area hospitals with $1,053 to open a college savings account as well as gift cards and essential baby gifts.

“This is the first year Witham Health Services has partnered with Fifth Third for this event,” said MaryBeth Searles, Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Witham Health Services, “You never know how many births you are going to have each day, so we were glad Witham was able to include one birth in the count. It was such a nice surprise for the Doyle family to receive the gifts for their newborn daughter.  Witham will look forward to being a part of this event in future years.”

“It’s truly an honor to welcome the newest members of our community,” said Mike Ash, Fifth Third Bank’s Greater Indiana Gateway region president. “We are thrilled to provide support to these young families and offer resources to take care of themselves, their little one, and future college savings.”

The families each received a gift box with instructions to receive a $1,053 gift card, which allows them to open a 529 college savings account in partnership with the Gift of College. Parents can redeem this through their state or an educational institution.

The boxes also included a special welcome from INDYCAR Driver, Graham Rahal, who the bank additionally sponsors, a Fifth Third Day onesie, sleep sack, and hat, as well as self-care items for the mother. There was also a special gift to all of our nurses on-site filled with 2022 Rev chef’s baked treats as a thank you for all they do day in and day out.
