At 9:36 p.m. on Jan. 9, the Boone County Communications center received a 911 call reporting a house fire at 7881 E. 100 S. in rural Zionsville. Zionsville Fire Department crews arrived to find a two-story residence fully involved with fire. Due to the lack of hydrants in the area, multiple agencies were requested to bring water to the scene with tankers.
No one was at home at the time of the fire. There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians. Preliminary damage estimates for the building and contents exceed $250,000. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
Agencies assisting at the scene were Whitestown Fire Department, Center Twp. Fire Department, Lebanon Fire Department, Perry Twp. Vol. Fire Department, Boone County EMS, Zionsville Police Department and Boone County Sheriff’s Office.
